You start out with 100 credits. The points are for spending. With me so far? Good.
Attributes
The first and foremost thing you may spend the points on is Attributes. Attributes are a standard measure of your characters level of ability or skill such as:
Physical Strength
Agility
Intelligence
…but these are just status fodder. The core of the Sundered Limitations ethos is that there are no standard stats. It’s up to you to come up with them. So you could have the above, or you could be working with:
Flexibility
Flame-Retardance
Power Over The Seas
Adult Appeal
Now, Attributes are pretty much the first thing you’ll be concentrating your points on. If you do not invest in a certain attribute, that attribute in your character is considered negligible.
The way Attributes work is that if someone else has more Strength than you, it’s safe to assume that they are stronger than you. In some cases different attributes will be pitted against one another. For instance, Accurate Aim versus Agility. In that case, highest attribute wins. In other words, if you challenge someone to something they can beat you at, you will be beaten. Therefore the smart tactic is to use other attributes to catch them off guard.
EXAMPLE: Poseidon, God of the Seas, has been challenged to a duel by Captain Greg the pirate. Captain Greg realises too late that Poseidon could easily sink his ship and escape unscathed. So he challenges Poseidon to a poker game. No matter how high Poseidon’s Power Over The Seas attribute is, it has no relevance to Captain Greg’s Card Shark skill, therefore Poseidon loses.
Of course, Attributes aren’t all you have, they’re just the most basic credit funnel.
On to tutorial 2. If you have any questions, I guess you should probably ask them. Now.
